Operational Performance Review

A structured diagnostic of how your business is performing — financially and operationally — with clear findings and a prioritised plan for improvement.

Overview

An independent, evidence-based view of how your business is really performing.

The Operational Performance Review is a defined-scope diagnostic and the usual starting point for working with Outturn. We review your financial and operating information, speak with the people running the business and identify where performance is being won or lost. You receive practical findings and a prioritised roadmap — not a generic report.

What’s involved

Typical work

  • 01Review of management reporting, profit and loss structure and operating information
  • 02Labour and workforce cost analysis, including rostering patterns and wage cost ratios
  • 03Operating expense review across the major cost categories
  • 04Revenue and margin assessment by venue, department, product or service line
  • 05Identification of the KPIs that matter most for your business model
  • 06Conversations with owners and key managers about how decisions are made
  • 07Assessment of reporting processes, systems and manual workload

How it works

A structured, transparent process

Agree objectives, scope, timing and the information required. The review is quoted before work begins.

Analyse the financial, payroll, rostering and sales information you provide.

  3. 03

    Conversations

Speak with owners and key managers, on site or remotely, to understand how the business runs day to day.

  4. 04

    Analysis and findings

Identify performance drivers, inefficiencies and commercial opportunities, and test them against the data.

  5. 05

    Walkthrough and roadmap

Present findings, agree priorities and hand over a practical improvement roadmap.

Information is only requested once a review has been agreed, and we will arrange a secure way to share it. Please do not send financial records through the website.

Questions

About this service

How long does a review take?

It depends on the size of the business and how quickly information can be provided. We agree a timeline at the scoping stage — typically a matter of weeks rather than months.

How is the review priced?

Each review is scoped and quoted upfront, so you know the cost and what you will receive before any work begins.

Do we need to change our systems first?

No. The review works with the information and systems you already have. Where changes are recommended, we explain why and what is involved.

What happens after the review?

You are free to implement the recommendations yourselves. If it helps, Outturn can support implementation through reporting, cost, process or ongoing advisory work.
